Bryan sailed in S.S.Indara, with an escort, from Alexandria to Taranto. An Army form dated 4th July 1918 states that he was admitted on 24th June to 79 General Hospital, Taranto. He had dysentery.
On discharge he went by train through France, and photographed the Italian Alps when near Monte Carlo.

There was a period when Bryan and his brother Philip played the organ on alternate Sundays in Southgate Church. On 1st June 1926 Philip played the organ in St. Paul's Cathedral at a Women's Union Service.
After demobilisation Bryan decided to forget leave, and return to work.

Bryan's parents visited him and Winnie, when they were living at Grenvilla, Charlestown. His parents were brought sight-seeing to many places. Bryan's father wrote of the visit: "Bryan and Winnie very attentive, made us very welcome, and introduced us to their friends". |
