Hugh Long and Martha Youren and their children were all born in Gwennap, but it is not possible from the sketchy information in the parish register to say whether or not the family was living at St Day, part of the Gwennap parish, at that time.
Infant mortality was high and Hugh and Martha were not unusual in losing three of their seven babies in infancy. It was also not uncommon to give the next baby of the same sex the same name as a previous baby that had died.
Four of the children survived infancy but so far no descendants of John (1752), Mary (1759) nor Martha (1767) have been traced.
